Cartonnage is an amazing technique. It is so fun and it makes a unique handmade gift! Making your own fabric box is a great idea! It is so fun and it makes a unique handmade gift! You can make your own keepsake boxes, cases and much more out of paperboard, fabric and glue with this lovely craft!! And your pieces will be sturdy as wood, but made with your favorite fabric!
This DIY cartonnage Kit comes with all pre cut paper (chipboard 100 points and poster board) you need to make your own fabric box, as shown in the pictures. The finished box will be 10″ x 6 1/4” x 8 7/8”, great to use as a charging station or to organize with stationary, craft or sewing notions. No worries about cutting paper! Fabric and other contents showed in pictures are not included. Small metal pull drawer and pins for holding deviders are included and the color and model may be different than showed in pictures. If you have color preference for the pull drawer, leave a note when purchasing.
For making the box you will need this kit, two coordinating fabrics (1 yard each – depending of the direction maybe 3/4 of yard can be enough), white PVA glue, rotary cutter, cutting board, a small paint roller with tray, paint brush, masking tape, hole punch, craft knife or carving knife.
Cartonnage tools (spatula, acrylic spacers and corner tool) will facilitate the process and give a better finishing for your project. Find them in the tools section of the shop.
