Cartonnage is an amazing technique. It is so fun and it makes a unique handmade gift! Making your own fabric box is a great idea! It is so fun and it makes a unique handmade gift! You can make your own keepsake boxes, cases and much more out of paperboard, fabric and glue with this lovely craft!! And your pieces will be sturdy as wood, but made with your favorite fabric!
This DIY cartonnage Kit comes with all pre cut paper (paperboard, poster board and kraft paper) you need to make your own box, as shown in the pictures. The finished box will be 8 2/8″ x 6 5/8″ x 2 5/8″, great to keep memories, jewelry, stationary or sewing stuffs. No worries about cutting paper! Fabric and other contents showed in pictures are not included. The ring holder is optional, you will have some pieces included in the kit, but you will need to supply your own foam or roller.
For making the box you will need this kit, two coordinating fabrics (1/2 yard each), glue, rotary cutter, cutting board, a small paint roller with tray, paint brush, masking tape, clips. Ribbons and other embellishments can be added to this box. Adding mirror is optional and the mirror kit is sold separately.
Cartonnage tools (spatula, acrylic spacers and corner tool) will facilitate the process and give a better finishing for your project. Find them in the tools section of the shop.
